Pieceful Valley Quilt Camp: Denise Stewart hosted five
women from Texas at her Pieceful Valley Quilt Camp, located near
the Casey County line on Dunnville Road off KY 206 in District One
of Adair County, this past weekend. Stewart instructed the Texans in
the art of quilting. Shown in the background and
foreground are two halves of their "Quick Trip Around the World" quilt.
Seated from left are sisters Debbie McCown, Jean King, Jodi Kirksey, and their mother Adeline Phillips. The event was Mrs. Phillips' 70th birthday. Standing in the back are Denise Stewart and Sheryl Phillips, daughter-in-law of Adeline Phillips. The five students flew from Texas to Nashville, Tennessee and rented a car for the trip to Columbia.
Dr. Jay Stewart, Denise's husband and a professor of biology at Lindsey Wilson College, was the chef for the occasion.
